Here are some of the characters from the script:

King Harald lived a rich life. He owned twelve farms which were well run by the many slaves in his service. This left him free to go riding everyday, swim in the fjords in fine weather and leave each summer with his knights, his Jarls, for the raids on the Scottish coast. He was an educated man. He knew the art of runes, the songs of birds, the names of plants and trees and was skilled at board games. He was well respected. His sword, “Leg-Biter”, was a symbol of his wealth and success; it was his most prized possession.

Queen Hildegaard spends her days looking at her jewels and standing about for fittings for new dresses. Hildegard loved the cloth Harald brought her from the lands he visited. He always made sure to find her the very best of silks and finely woven linen.

Lars Haraldsen, son to King Harald, never really knew his father. He was given away to his uncle, Erlend, as a foster child when he was five years old. While this is Viking tradition, Lars never understood why his father, who had no other children, did not wish to raise him, himself. Now, fifteen years old, he finds himself very much alone.

Halloween Lies murder mystery game

Halloween Lies

16 to 22 guests and one or two hosts and INCLUDES FREE KIDS VERSION!

It’s award night and Tom Speed’s latest film, The Vampire Detective, has just swept the board and garnered five Skellies – for Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director and Best Screenplay. Sadly, Tom Speed’s award for Best Actor was accepted posthumously by his wife, Zara Vicars, as Tom was killed in a driving accident late last night.

Despite this note of sadness, celebrations are in full swing at the The Vampire Detective post-award party. Deals are being cut for future productions and everyone is having a good time enjoying the atmosphere and mingling with Hollywood’s movers and shakers.

Halloween Lies lasts for about four hours and is suited to an evening. It is often played over a meal — a finger buffet if possible to allow guests to circulate and talk in private.

On the evening the guests are met by the organizer, the Master (or Mistress) of Ceremonies. They then receive their detailed backgrounds – including dark secrets, objectives and money. The players can form alliances, blackmail each other, steal items and even try to make the best movie for next year. Along the way they may solve some of Halloween Lies’s mysteries. Who is having an affair? What has happened to the photos of Crystal Beech? Which script will be made into a movie? And of course, how did Tom Speed die? Finally, the game concludes and everyone finds out how they did, and how their character fares in later life.

Class of 57 murder mysterys script

Class of ’57

12 Players plus 2 free Extra Character Packets (20 more characters)

It is time for the All Saints College Class of ’57 Reunion. For one night we will return to the good old days when Elvis was at the top of the charts. Sock hops, hula-hoops and poodles were radioactive. Getting pinned meant something altogether different than it does these days.

The Class of ’57 is a romantically slanted murder mystery game. All the characters in the game are very much in love. Couples will be working together at times to achieve goals, and although they may have some secrets from each other they will be working to protect each other as well. This is what we would call a ‘clean’ game. There are no affairs & people are basically good. This game is great for church groups and others who are worried about the possibility of offending guests. It can also be used for older teen groups!

Another difference is that the murder happens before the game. Being a couples murder mystery we felt it would be too complicated to murder them both or only one. That is not to say that there won’t be more murders during the evening. Those tend to happen in our games since we provide a lot of intrigue outside of the murder itself.

The 12 player version has 6 couples and we include our 2 Extra Character Packets to expand the game up to 32. The Extra Character Packets add a little quirky flavor to the party, but not all of these 20 extra characters may be suitable for conservative groups. (Remember… these are included FREE in the 12 player version, no need to purchase them!)

Character overviews:

Jenny & Johnny
Then: Jenny and Johnny were our Prom King and Queen. Jenny was the head cheerleader, at
every game cheering Johnny on to the National Championship of ’57, where he broke the
quarterback record for most yards passed in a game. He received a National Championship ring
that he wears proudly to this day.

Now: Johnny went into local politics as soon as he graduated college. He is now Mayor of our
great town, with his loving wife Jenny at his side. They say he might be our next Governor!

Mary & Michael
Then: Mary and Michael were Jenny & Johnny’s best friends. All through college they were
constantly fighting. It took everyone by surprise when they eloped and got married the day after
graduation. Before this time Michael had been going steady with Maria.

Now: Mary & Michael are still fighting. As of this printing they have divorced and then remarried!
Michael owns a shopping center in the same spot as the 2 factories owned by Stevens father
Jacob, who they say, committed suicide after a corporate takeover by Michael 2 years ago. Mary
so sweet natured that it always amazes us when we see them argue.

Maria & Mark
Then: Mark came from the wrong side of the tracks. Maria had doting, successful parents. They
ran in different crowds. We weren’t even aware that they knew each other until they showed up at
graduation holding hands.

Now: Maria & Mark are the typical family. They have 2 kids and a dog. By all reports they are still
happily married. Mark is a pretty successful horror writer. He does a lot of traveling to research his
books. As you know his twin sister Marilyn died from a fall down some stairs at our graduation
party. It was rumored that she was in the family way at the time.

Susan & Steven

Then: Susan and Steven were the couple voted most likely to succeed. They were both intelligen
with parents that were very well off. Susan’s father came from old money & Stevens’s owned the
biggest factories in town.

Now: Susan & Steven have 6 kids! They live in the mansion on the hill that has 12 bedrooms and
8 bathrooms.

Linda & Lenny
Then: Linda and Lenny were voted as the couple most likely to follow in the footsteps of Bonnie
and Clyde. They were in a band together.

Now: Linda & Lenny surprised us all when they left college and formed a rock and roll band that
had numerous number one hits. They have a new album about to be released.

Carol & Charles
Then: Charles was taking law courses and Carol took secretarial classes.

Now: Carol & Charles are quite happily married. They are both Detectives and are investigating
David’s murder.

The pack includes: full instructions on how to run the game, extensive character sheets, tips and ideas to run the party, Invitation , Host Guide, Guest List ,News Item, Name Tags, Full Size Evidence, Game Money, Evidence Presentation, Solution, Guess Solution Sheets, 2-Part Character Sheets (–> 1. Your Background w/Character and/or Costume Suggestions 2. Your Secrets, Secrets You Know about Others & Things To Do) and more!

Poetic Justice murder mystery script

Poetic Justice

From $29.95 – 10 to 50 guests. Buy securely and download today.

An excellent murder mystery for those with a literary turn of mind. Join the greats of the early 20th century at HG Wells’ dinner evening where his time machine has transported James Joyce, Isadora Duncan, T.S. Eliot, Mae West, and even Agathea Christie to a 21st century apartment.

However, poor Mr Wells is found dead in the WC and now the group of writers has to find out whodunnit.

Here is an extract from the instruction manual on setting up the mystery:

“You have all been asked to remain here for questioning by the police.  You must tell as many people as you can what you know. If you find out interesting new information, you can also pass that on to the people
you meet. We must all work together to help determine who is the villain in our midst. And you must do whatever you have been instructed to do. Don’t panic if you don’t get to talk to everyone. You will hear and see enough to help you work out who did it. You may want to jot down some notes on your clue page. When we do have some facts or evidence, we will read these to you.

There is no need to hurry through this and you can adlib a little if you want. You do not have to read each clue exactly as it is written – embellish it if you want. You might like to speak in slang or with an accent. For example, if you are playing a snob, you might speak as if you have a plum in your mouth. If your character is distressed, you could reveal your clues in between sobs. Act it out to the fullest. This is your chance to be dramatic! “

The kit comes complete with an extensive instruction manual including lots of tips for running the evening, as well as invitations and guest guides.

There are several versions of the game with different numbers of characters and a meet and mingle option for upto 50 guests, or straightforward dinner table option.

Here is a list of the characters in the game with their thoughts on Mr Wells!

Dame Agatha Christie  – I’m a British writer of mysteries mainly. I was made a Dame, would you believe it? It was a happy and fulfilling life. And H.G. Wells has made me miss out on all of that. All I got was a quick zip through it. I felt cheated. It was like seeing the menu without being allowed to order or to taste the food.

James Joyce – I’m an Irish poet and novelist. To live is better than to miss out on living. Wells had stopped me from being able to do that.

Virginia Woolf – I’m a British novelist. It was such a sad life (sob sob). I hated having to see it flash before my eyes. H. G. Wells had made me suffer so much. I can’t tell you how much.

William Yeats – I’m an Irish poet, dramatist and politician. I saw my future during the time travel. How could I let a man like Wells rob me of the joy of receiving the Nobel Prize for Poetry? Can you imagine my joy at finally putting Ireland on the literary map? How could I let him do that to me?

Mae West – I’m a movie actress and I often write my own scripts. I was only just getting started in show business before H. G. Wells whisked me off here into the future. He made me miss out on all that fun.

Thomas S. Eliot
– I’m an American born, English poet and playwright. I saw my future. I wrote various poetry collections and plays, although I was not as prolific as you, Mrs Christie. H. G. Wells had no right to bring me into the future. No right at all.

Isadora Duncan – I’m a US dancer – one of the first to use dance steps based on natural movement. I saw in my future, that in 1927 I was strangled by one of my long scarves after it caught in the wheel of my sports car. Lucky, I suppose that I had written my autobiography before I died. You can’t imagine what it feels like to watch yourself die and to die like that – strangled by my own scarf. I think H. G. Wells has left me with permanent emotional scars.

Charlie Chaplin – I’m a comedian, writer, director and movie producer. I saw my future. I made lots more movies. Wells has interrupted my movie making career just as it was starting by this time travel nonsense.

Dorothy Parker – I’m a US critic, poet and short story writer. I’m known for my satire, terse style and acid wit. I saw my future. Although my life appears to have been as acerbic as my poetry, it doesn’t mean there weren’t some good times. H. G. Wells shouldn’t have denied me those times.

Ezra Pound – I’m an American poet and critic and leader of the European literary avant-garde. I saw my future and although I regret what happened as a result of the war, I had a poetic life and I would like the opportunity to live it. What hope is there now that Wells has cast me here? This is worse than any lunatic asylum.

Sarah Bernhardt – I’m a French actress but I have performed world-wide and I have managed several Paris theatres and opened my own theatre. In 1915 I had my right leg amputated after a fall, but I continued to act. I don’t want to have my final curtain call here. I find this modern world bereft of style and glamour.

William C. Fields – I’m the US actor with the raspy voice and I’m a script writer. My life was a barrel of laughs. H. G. Wells has taken me away from all that. People in this age probably won’t appreciate my humor.

Georgia O’Keefe – I’m an American painter mainly of flowers, still lifes, desert landscapes and sometimes abstracts. I saw my future. My life was satisfying in its own way. As most of you are poets and writers, you may not appreciate just how good it feels to capture nature in a painting. H. G. Wells had denied me the pleasure of living the life I saw.

Rudolph Valentino – I’m a Hollywood actor known for my sultry charms. I saw my future. I saw my early death in 1926 due to a perforated ulcer and the mass hysteria caused by it. I was shocked to die so young. Like Isadora, I found it was very jarring to see myself die. Nobody should be confronted with that, surely?

Bessie Smith – I’m a US blues singer. They say I was important to the development of the blues. But I ain’t going to sing none of those tunes now. How can I when I’m not in the time where I belong? Wells has wrecked all that.

Lily Pad
– (English hostess) I’m a groovy young chic who was about to go out to a party when this lot dropped in. I haven’t gotten to see my future, but it sounds really cool. H. G. Wells was a bossy one. Took over the place as if he owned it and treated it as if it were a movie set. He was a real creep.
